Muravchik on Green Lanternism

Most concise encapsulation of the Green Lantern Theory of Geopolitics goes to... Joshua Muravchik:

It simply cannot be the case that pacifying Iraq is beyond our capacity. The question is whether we have the will to do it.

By coincidence, I happen to be reading E. H. Carr today, who wrote "intellectuals are particularly reluctant to recognise their thought as conditioned by forces external to themselves, and like to think of themselves as leaders whose theories provide the motive force for so-called men of action."

Helpfully, though, Muravchik appears to be on a government-funded trip to Saudi Arabia in order to "explain neoconservatism and to demystify U.S. policy toward the Middle East," so I'm sure this will all be worked out soon.
